7:00 p.m. DGS introduction
Anna Fierling travels from theater of war to theater of war through the dehumanized world of the Thirty Years' War. The only guarantee of survival is their business acumen, come what may. But her plan to get herself and her children through the catastrophe unscathed must fail in the face of the all-encompassing horror. In his great classic, Bertolt Brecht shows the hopelessness and meaninglessness of human virtues in the face of the atrocities of war.
Lead director David Ortmann stages the piece, whose topicality we are becoming frighteningly aware of in view of a new war in Europe, for the stage of Martini Park.
