Who doesn't know Don Quixote, the knight with the sad figure who bravely fights against windmills and his loyal servant Sancho Panza. Together they dream of having adventures, helping the weak and making the world a better place. It's just too bad that Don Quixote lives in a time when there are no longer any knights, giants and evil sorcerers and sorceresses.
So their journey is full of strange encounters and more than once our hero lies in the dust with his rusty armor, Sancho Panza counts his bruises and many a prank is played on them. But the kind-hearted Don Quixote never loses sight of his dream.
Andreas Gruhn, director and artistic director of the children's and youth theater, brings the Spanish classic by Miguel de Cervantes to the big stage in the Schauspielhaus am Hiltropwall. The novel is considered the most famous work of Spanish literature and the first modern novel ever. In a new stage version, the chivalric novel comes to life for everyone aged 6 and over.
