Invitation to participate: Inclusive sign language ensemble & collection of historical stories

The project is dedicated to the history of the culture of the Deaf people in Baden-Württemberg over the past 150 years. In a performative journey through different eras, four figures recount their experiences – accompanied by an inclusive sign language ensemble that underscores the narrative flow with body percussion, singing, and movement.

1. Call for applications: Inclusive sign language ensemble

For this project, the INTERAKT Initiative is seeking art-loving participants aged 15 and over to become part of the ensemble. In this sign language ensemble, deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing people meet on equal terms and, together with professional theater artists, develop a poetic-performative stage language combining sign language, music, rhythm, and physical expression.

Application deadline: July 31, 2025 | Rehearsal start: September 2025

Attached you will find the tender with all information.

2. Call for participation: Stories from the history of the deaf in Baden-Württemberg

For our project, we are also seeking personal accounts of the realities of life for the people of the Tauber region in Baden-Württemberg over the past 150–200 years. Whether family stories, traditional memories, or everyday regional experiences, each individual story contributes to making previously invisible historical perspectives visible.

We will raffle off among all participants 3×2 cards for the performances in December!
